"Teamwork is the ability to work together toward a common vision. The ability to direct individual accomplishments toward organizational objectives. It is the fuel that allows common people to attain uncommon results." --Andrew Carnegie
A team is not just a group of staff members who work at the same campus, eat lunch together, or have the same logo on their shirts. An effective team is made up of staff who may not have the same experience or education, but who are equal in their commitment to working together to achieve the goals and good of the district, each other, and more importantly for our students. When there is teamwork and collaboration amazing things can be achieved. There is strength in unity and united we will become. Let us embrace our school colors and Tiger pride and as a team make the impossible possible.
If we are going to be successful, we can no longer look at our staff as individuals, departments or campuses, but as a district as a whole. We must look at the bigger picture and must work together in ways we may never have done before in the best interest of our students and district. It requires commitment, effort, and an appreciation of diversity. We will build a team the same way we build relationships with our friends and fellow coworkers. Effective campuses are seen to be reliable no matter what the circumstances may be. We must project this image to our students, parents, and community.
Working together as a team, there is no challenge we cannot meet or any obstacle we cannot overcome. We will hold every district entity accountable for the success of our students. We are committed to do whatever it takes to accomplish our goals. We will create Professional Learning Communities, improve professional development, model effective teaching practices, and align STEM strategies district wide. We will enrich our curriculum with the latest technology and improve student attendance. We will enhance our Athletic program to enhance the Tiger winning tradition and make our roar heard statewide! Our district safety team will continue with innovative ideas to be prepared for any crisis and ensure the safety of our students and staff. We will move forward by respecting each person’s individual contribution, showing appreciation, exciting them about their possibilities for achievement, and sharing with them that their group effort has the potential for excellence.
We are here to serve our students and community by valuing teamwork and collaboration, sharing responsibility and decision making. We must value setting high academic and achievement standards. Valley View ISD values nurturing and caring for our students, respecting individual diversity, striving for personal best, building positive character traits and having the courage to stand by our convictions. We will become what we believe. In that belief, we will not settle for anything less than excellence. That is the Valley View way! That is the Tiger way! TEAM, TEAM!! Dream, Believe, Succeed!!
