Valley View ISD special educations teachers, instructional assistants, speech pathologists assistant , special education counselor, diagnosticians, licensed school psychologists, and other related service specialists is dedicated to providing exceptional individualized services to students. According to both federal and state law, the goal of special education is to help students with disabilities become as independent as possible as they move through the grade levels. Furthermore, the law requires each student become employable, if possible, when they leave the educational setting. This may include opportunities to pursue post-high school education. Each program and service provided through special education is devoted to these goals.

The special education department is not able to reach these goals alone. We value the partnerships we have built with our parents/guardians in this effort. If any of our staff may be of service to you, please contact us.

Child Find

Purpose

The purpose of Child Find is to locate, identify and evaluate children from birth to 21 years of age with disabilities and their possible need for special education and related services.
Child Find is a free referral and information service available through local education agencies and Education Service Center (ESC) Region 1.

Children learn at different rates but some children have significant difficulty in one or more of the following areas: social interaction, play, speech and language, vision, hearing, attention, behavior, or coordinating movements. We’re here to help you access services to meet the unique learning needs of your child. If you are concerned that your child may be learning, playing or interacting differently from others, please call the special education department at 956-340-1080 or ESC Region 1 at 956-984-3215.
