Dear VVISD Parents,
The safety of our children is our top priority. We are committed to protecting them against any threats while they are in our care through effective planning, physical security, and coordination with local emergency responders.
**Key Safety Protocols:**
- **Enhanced Security Measures**: All campuses have restricted access using security vestibules and metal detectors. Visitors must check in at the main office and register through our Raptor Visitor Management System.
- **Emergency Response Plans**: Each campus has a detailed Emergency Response Plan, reviewed annually, that includes evacuation, lockdown procedures, and reunification plans in case of emergencies.
- **Safety Teams and Resources**: Full-time School Resource Officers (SROs) are on every campus, and our District Safety and Security Committee works closely with local law enforcement to keep our schools secure.
- **Communication**: In emergencies, we will keep you informed through our website, social media, and messaging system.
We encourage you to talk with your child about safety and stay engaged with their school’s safety initiatives. Together, we can maintain a safe and supportive environment for our children.
Thank you for your support.
