We are thrilled to announce a collaboration between Valley View High School and South Texas College to launch a Fire Science Academy Program through the Dual Enrollment Program!
After a year of planning and partnership development, this week marked a significant milestone as VVISD Administration, South Texas College representatives, Hidalgo Fire Chief, and Assistant Fire Chief came together to finalize the Fire Science Academy timeline, promotion strategy, and upcoming student/parent information sessions.
What This Means for Our Students:
Through this innovative initiative, VVHS students will have the opportunity to earn BOTH high school AND college credit while pursuing their passion for public safety and emergency services. The Fire Science Program focuses on fire prevention, protection, firefighting, and the diverse career opportunities within this essential field.
Career Pathways Include: Emergency Medical Technicians (EMT), Firefighters, Fire Inspectors, Fire Investigators
And more!
We are incredibly excited to open these doors for our students and provide them with real-world skills and credentials that will serve them throughout their careers. This is just one of many ways VVISD is committed to creating meaningful pathways from classroom to career.

This meeting was a wonderful opportunity for our students to share their innovative ideas for each campus, and it was heartwarming to see their enthusiasm and passion. Each member brought unique perspectives, showing just how much they care about enhancing our school community. Listening to our future leaders discuss their visions for meaningful activities was truly inspiring. We are thrilled to announce that our Valley View ISD UIL Robotics team has advanced to the STATE UIL BEST Robotics Championship for the SECOND YEAR IN A ROW!
This past weekend at UTRGV, our Tigers competed in the District BEST Robotics competition against several teams. Only 4 teams advanced to the state level, and we are proud to be one of them - winning the medium category (3A-4A)!
Our students demonstrated excellence across all five competition components: Booth Display/Interviews, Robot Competition, Marketing Presentation, Engineering Notebook, and Spirit.
The dedication of these students has been remarkable - countless hours after school and on weekends, perfecting every aspect of their competition. Their advancement to state is well-deserved and hard-earned.
Congratulations to our outstanding students, Mr. Randy Perez, Ms. Rocio Garcia, and the entire UIL Robotics support team.
