Sixty lucky Valley View Jr. High and Valley View High School students received gifts from the U.S. Customs & Border Patrol Federal Agency just in time for the winter season. Their names were drawn from a schoolwide raffle and on Monday, December 16th, they received cozy sweaters or outerwear to keep warm this holiday season. Thank you again, CBP officers and Mrs. Pina for your kind gesture and your generous hearts. It is after all, the season of giving. Merry Christmas!

Great job to all our participants!

The French IV Class enjoyed their field trip to Barnes & Noble and Maison Stivalet as a follow-up activity for the UTSA TexLer presentation "Self-discovery through Multilingualism and Literature" last October.
Students led a class discussion at Barnes & Noble where they shared their ideas about literature and self-discovery and the contributions of other cultures to our lifestyle. Moreover, they discussed the principle of "adopt and adapt" from different cultures to enrich our own. In addition, they ordered and enjoyed various French dishes at Maison Stivalet, a French restaurant in North McAllen where the staff commended them for their exemplary behavior and demeanor.
Thank you for your continued support of the French program. Our students are very grateful for the opportunities provided by the district to explore other languages and cultures.

Over the past week and this week, Dr. Luna has been meeting with District staff to discuss the District's goals and evaluate our progress at the year's midpoint. Thank you to all staff for your hard work and dedication to our students, parents, and community.

A huge CONGRATULATIONS goes out to our High School student Mariano Moreno for being selected to speak and read selections from his publication "Donde Estan Mis Hijos" at the Masters of Fine Arts Ceremony held at the UTRGV Library. We are very proud of his accomplishment as a young author and for representing Valley View HS at this prestigious event. We would like to also thank his teacher and mentor Mrs. Rosa Mora and to Beyond Border Books for all of their support and encouragement.

We would like to express our gratitude for the support from our parents during the Winter Annual Scholarship Fundraiser! Thank you to all the parents who contributed by baking, sewing, and creating arts and crafts, as well as to those who purchased the items. Your efforts will greatly benefit our Seniors in the Class of 2025. Go Tigers!
